Access to additional unit standards
Employers can now choose up to three additional unit standards from any Careerforce qualifications (to a maximum of 12 credits).
Access to additional unit standards for Careerforce trainees
From 1 July 2011, employers can access up to three additional unit standards to a total of 12 credits per calendar year when a trainee is enrolled in the Foundation Skills national certificate. Employers may choose any level 2 and/or 3 unit standard from within Careerforce qualifications.
The total cost is $30 GST inclusive. This fee does not include assessments and workbooks which can be purchased from the Careerforce Shop: shop.careerforce.org.nz from 1 July.
These units must be completed within the Foundation Skills qualification timeframe.
Employers should ensure they have the learning and assessment resources, including an assessor, to ensure their trainees can complete the unit standards.
All previous single unit standard programmes finish 1 July 2011.

These units must be completed within 12 months. Credit for the first unit standard must be reported within the first 30 days. Employers should ensure they have the learning and assessment resources including an assessor, required to ensure their trainees can complete the units.
