A number of grants are available to help meet the costs of Careerforce-supported training.


Disability Workforce Development training grants

Ministry of Health disability training grants are available to assist employers with costs arising from their employee's participation in many of the national certificates and diplomas listed below.

These grants are administered by Te Pou, and cover:

  • NC Foundation Skills (Level 2) : $400 per trainee
  • NC Core Competencies (Level 3) : $600 per trainee
  • NC Human Services (Level 3): $400 per trainee
  • NC Intellectual Disability (Level 3) : $400 per trainee
  • NC Disability Information Provision (Level 4): $800 per trainee
  • Residential Limited Credit Programme: $800 per trainee
  • NC Diversional Therapy (Level 4): $800 per trainee
  • NC Disability Support Assessment, Planning, and Coordination (Level 5): $1,200 per trainee
  • ND Hearing Therapy (Level 5): $1,200 per trainee
  • NC Epilepsy Care (Level 5)):  $1,200 per trainee
  • ND Epilepsy Care (Level 6): $1,600 per trainee

Mental Health Support Worker Training Grant

Mental health support workers can access a study grant to fund their tuition fees for the National Certificate and/or National Diploma in Mental Health Support Work.

Le Va Mental Health and Addiction Scholarships

The purpose of the Le Va mental health and addiction scholarships is to increase the number of Pacific people working in mental health and addictions and enhance the knowledge and skills of the current Pacific workforce. The scholarships cover fees, mentoring support and general expenses associated with training.
