Gateway at Careerforce

Secondary School students working in the health and disability sector as part of Gateway are able to study towards Careerforce Unit Standards.

Any of the unit standards that make up the National Certificate in Health, Disability, and Aged Support (Foundation Skills) (Level 2) can be assessed as part of Gateway.

Foundation Skills version 3 and Gateway

Careerforce has revamped its Gateway package following the launch of Foundation Skills version 3.

Schools will now pay a flat fee of $85 (including GST) for each participating student. Students can undertake any of the unit standards within the Foundation Skills qualification, up to a maximum of 50 credits. Under the new approach to Gateway students can now select one level 3 unit standard if they choose.

Workbooks and Trainee’s Assessments for each selected unit standard are able to be purchased separately at shop.careerforce.org.nz . Trainee’s Assessments can also be downloaded for free at www.careerforce.org.nz/trainee-assessments. Assessor costs will still need to be negotiated directly between the school and the workplace.

To find out what workplaces in your region can support a Gateway placement, email gateway@careerforce.org.nz or phone 0800 277 486.
