Kaiwhakahaere

Careerforce is the Industry Training Organisation (ITO) who provides training support to employees within the Health, Disability, Aged Support, and Social Services sectors. Enhancing workforce development is a key focus and this is achieved through working with employers, employees and other stakeholders to support attainment of national qualifications within the New Zealand Qualifications Framework.

The Kaiwhakahaere is charged with promoting and enhancing training outcomes for Maori trainees within the Health, Disability, Aged Support, and Social Services sectors, and will provide the necessary leadership and management to give effect to the articles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi. This will involve developing and implementing appropriate strategies, building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders in the Maori and employer communities, and providing leadership and guidance to Careerforce managers and staff.

Establishing credibility and maintaining effective relationships with Maori-aligned health and disability, aged support, and social services organisations will be pivotal to your success.  Your ability to create new and strengthen existing partnerships with diverse stakeholders within the community will also be clearly evident.

 This key role demands:

  • extensive leadership and facilitation experience;
  • experience working with whanau, hapu, iwi, and Maori organisations;
  • comprehensive knowledge of tikanga Maori and fluency in te reo Maori;
  • demonstrated achievement in managing organisation-based Maori activities and projects;
  • experience within a business, health-aligned, social services, or tertiary education setting.
