How Career Pathways Work

Our career pathways start with our level 2 National Certificate in Community Support Services (Foundation Skills) and lead onto National Certificates in Core Competencies (Level 3), and the specialist strand qualifications of Intellectual Disability, Human Services and Residential Care (all Level 3). Also at Level 3 are Field Work and Vision and Hearing Screening qualifications.

Our suite of qualifications also includes National Certificates at Level 4 in Mental Health (Mental Health Support Work), Disability Information Provision, Diversional Therapy, and a Limited Credit Programme in Residential Care (Dementia). At level 5 we have National Certificates in Epilepsy Care, Disability Support Assessment Planning and Coordination, and two National Diplomas in Human Services and Guide Dog Training.

The level 6 qualifications are a National Diploma in Epilepsy Care, a National Diploma in Mental Health (Mental Health Support Work) and our Level 7 qualification is the National Diploma in Guide Dog Training.

Under Development

All the above qualifications are on the National Qualifications Framework, but with a focus on the future, we are working to develop new qualifications and unit standards in areas such as Health Assistant, Orderlies, New Born Hearing and Screening, Brain Injury, Senior Care Worker (Aged Care), Public Health, Team Leader (Disability)/Service Coordination (Home and Community) and Advocacy.
