Graduates danced in the aisles at a colourful celebration of success in July. A record 205 cleaning staff were filled with pride as they graduated with nationally recognised qualifications.
Counties Manukau Health Service Manager for Non Clinical Support Services, Loraine Elliott, said she would like to congratulate the cleaners who completed the NZQA Level 3 National Certificate in Cleaning and Caretaking.  ”Staff feel valued now that they have a qualification. It really has raised the morale of the cleaners. Now they have instilled confidence in what they do,” says Loraine.

Representatives from Careerforce, the Industry Training Organisation (ITO) for the health, community support and cleaning sectors felt privileged to be able to attend the graduation ceremony. Careerforce’s Learning Engagement Advisor said, “The atmosphere in the auditorium was electric. The whole celebration was about recognising the achievements of all these amazing people who are seen but often never heard and it was great to be a part of acknowledging their efforts. This graduation has been the biggest one for Careerforce. This success has been the result of considerable work and dedication by the DHB staff and trainees to complete the training and assessment,”
