Our Gateway packages provide your students with opportunities to learn in the workplace and match their career ideas and values to possible careers in the health and wellbeing sectors.
The health and wellbeing sectors present a variety of exciting career opportunities for school leavers including:
These careers are ideal for students who want to have rewarding career pathways through helping others reach their full potential and lead independent lives, making a difference in people’s lives, supporting and caring for the aged and the vulnerable, and following their passion.
Our Gateway programmes will help your students gain the confidence to make informed decisions on their career pathways, and provide a smooth transition from school to work.
Our Gateway Guide is designed to make selecting unit standards simple. They provide a foundation of core knowledge at Levels 2 and Level 3 to give senior students experience of the health, youth, and cleaning sectors, while gaining 15 to 20 credits towards NCEA.
Units within the packages will go towards completing a full qualification if students later move into workplace training.
Learners enrolling in these packages will be introduced to their learning by a Careerforce assessor through a face-to-face or an online induction session, to ensure they feel confident about what they will experience and learn.
We are pleased to offer a fees free Mental Health unit standard to all students in years 12 and 13. The unit is 26971 – Describe factors that contribute to mental health wellbeing (3 credits at Level 3). This unit standard not only helps contribute to resilience in our young people but gives students a taster of what our Gateway packages can offer.
