arc Counselling Service is a well-established and respected community-based primary mental health and addiction agency delivering high-quality, comprehensive community services in the Taupo District.  We are a team of 10 including AOD Clinical Counsellors, Community Support Workers and Administrators.  We work closely with the local Mental Health Team and have good relationships with community agencies and GP’s.  You will be joining a team dedicated to working with clients who have issues related to substance addiction and who are wanting to make a positive change to their lives.  Our focus is on recovery for the client and whanau.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Community Support Worker with a minimum qualification of Level 4 Mental Health Support Work.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate an understanding of a recovery-focused approach and will also have a level of knowledge and skill in the management of clients who present with co-existing mental health and substance use disorders.  A high level of understanding of Tikanga Maori and skills in delivering AOD services from a Maori and Pasifika framework is desirable.
