The Role | Mō tēnei tūranga mahi

We are on the look for casual Youth Workers to join our growing service at our Bay of Plenty Youth Respite.  If you are passionate about supporting young people to build confidence, resilience and wellbeing, and would like to work with a great team, we want to hear from you.

This role you will be covering a range of shifts:

  1. AM Shift working 7.00am-3.30am
  2. PM Shift working 3.00pm-11.30pm
  3. Awake night shift working 11.00pm-7.30am

Skills and Experience | Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako

  • The New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (NZCHW)-Level4 or a recognised equivalent or be prepared to study towards this qualification or a recognised equivalent.
  • Experience in working with young people and an understanding of trauma-informed care.
  • A current full New Zealand driver’s licence.
  • A current New Zealand first aid certificate or be prepared to obtain one.
  • Knowledge of, and demonstrable commitment to, the principles of the Te Tiriti o Waitangi

Position Description:

Some health and disability sector employers may require workers to be vaccinated. This is because workers come into close contact with people likely to get seriously ill if they get COVID-19.
