We provide mana-enhancing services that promote health and wellbeing for individuals, whānau and communities.

Based in South Auckland, you will be providing support to clients living in the community that are experiencing a variety of conditions in their lives. Many clients will have mild to moderate mental health conditions but you will also be required to work with clients who face other difficulties.

Job Description

He kōrero mō te tūranga - The role
We provide support to make positive changes in our clients' lives, by helping them identify their strengths, desires and to help set goals and plan the necessary steps to achieve them. This role will suit someone who is looking for a challenging and rewarding role, one where you can make a difference through using your personal experience of mental illness and other challenges. This is a Full-time permanent position available. The hours of this service are predominantly Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 4.30pm. However, flexibility will be required as the service also provides support from 8.00am - 8.00pm Monday to Sunday. Therefore, some weekend work and evening work will be required.
He kōrero mōu - About you
Are you someone who feels culturally connected? Are you compassionate with a sense of humour? Are you a great communicator?
If you have these skills and can demonstrate the following then we would love to hear from you:
  • Do you enjoy working with and supporting people in the community?
  • Can you demonstrate experience in supporting people in their recovery?
  • Would you consider yourself a role model and feel that you are able to show how one can move on from mental illness and other challenges?
You will need the following:
  • It's essential that you have a level 4 or 5 qualification in Mental Health and Addiction or higher relevant qualification.
  • It's essential that you have a full New Zealand drivers licence
  • Strong computer skills, a 'can-do' attitude and be able to demonstrate strong personal and professional boundaries
  • At least two years skills, knowledge and experience supporting people
  • Knowledge of community resources
  • Demonstrated commitment to the Treaty of Waitangi and culturally safe practice
