Ngā Ratonga | Our services:

The role offers lots of variety, potential for growth, and great job satisfaction. You’ll walk alongside Tangata Whaiora, providing support to help them create and achieve goals, realise their potential and achieve as much independence as possible.

You’ll help with a variety of things like accessing Planned Respite, Housing and Recovery services, prompting with medication and daily living activities. You’ll encourage Tangata Whaiora connections with Whānau and provide support with appointments around mental and physical health. You’ll help people to become confident and independent in taking the lead in their own wellbeing journey.

We have 2 x permanent vacancies available in our team 1 x part time (32 hours) and 1 x Full time to work across Monday – Sunday on a 24/7 rostered shift patterns.

Job Description

He kōrero mōu | About You

If you love helping others to succeed, have patience, determination, and a strong sense of empathy this position could you be the perfect next role for you!  In addition to strong people and communication skills you will be enthusiastic with a 'can-do' attitude and be reasonably tech / computer savvy to complete the admin requirements of the role. You'll be enthusiastic with a 'can-do' attitude.

In addition to the above, you'll have:

  • Level 4 mental health certificate or level 4 health and well-being qualification (or equivalent), or be willing to work towards this.
  • Previous experience within the mental health and/or addiction space
  • A Full New Zealand Driving Licence
  • Flexibility in the hours you can work (with notice), as you will occasionally be required to work outside of your normal hours.
  • Experience of one-to-one support within the community is preferred but not essential.

Additionally, an understanding and confidence in tikanga Māori and Te Reo Māori would be advantageous.
