Job Description

Come join the Mash Disability Team in Karori as a permanent full time Community Support Worker.

About the Role:
We are looking for  people with empathy and a passion to work alongside people we support, enabling them to lead fulfilling lives. Our support worker roles involve a range of varying support, in some cases assistance with everyday living to helping set and achieve aspirational dreams and goals.  
Your can do attitude and ability to adapt to challenging situations will make you a suitable candidate. 
MASH provides a wide range of support services for people with Mental Health, Intellectual or Physical Disability or Illness, Alcohol and Addiction and Youth Respite Care.
These services are offered either at the residential homes we support, or people who require support in their own homes, or in the community.
Position One:
  • We have a full time afternoon shift position working 80 hours per fortnight available based in Karori, Wellington
  • Working 2.45pm through until 11.15pm 
Position Two:
  • We have a full time wakeover position working 80 hours per fortnight available based in Karori, Wellington.
  • Working 11pm through until 7am
We are looking for candidates with a desire to learn and grow within their role and wanting flexibility with hours of work, not just a standard nine-to-five. Shifts will include weekend work.
To be successful in this role you will:
  • Be available to work the days and hours as stated above.
  • Have a clean, full NZ drivers licence and own transport
  • Be eligibility to work in NZ
  • Have a keen interest in working with people of all ages, including those with injuries, disabilities or aged related conditions
  • Have a warm sense of humour, patience and are sensitive to the varying needs of the people we support
  • Possess strong communication skills
