Job Description

He kōrero mō te tūranga | The Role 

Join a large mobile community support team based in Gisborne. You will join a busy and diverse team helping people with a mental health diagnosis and/or drug and alcohol addiction to achieve their goals in the community. You will engage with clinical teams, whanau, and other service agencies to help ensure great outcomes for our service users.

We are looking for people who are resilient, solution-focused, naturally energetic, have a passion for giving things a go, and have a genuine interest in supporting people to achieve goals and learn new skills and develop community connections.

This is a permanent full-time role.  

He kōrero mōu | About You

Whilst there is nothing average about this position, your average day will go from supporting people towards their goals and daily tasks to supporting whānau with their appointments. At the end of the day, you'll head back to the office to complete administration and record notes in our records system. In between the important mahi we do, there are hot drinks and daily korero.

  • Ideally have a Level 4 Mental Health Certificate or Level 4 Health and Wellbeing Qualification (or similar), however, if you're willing to commit to working towards a qualification then we would love to hear from you as we can offer some support around this.
  • Be culturally responsive and non-judgmental
  • Have strong professional boundaries
  • Can easily build professional relationships with people
  • Full NZ driver's license (please do not apply if you have only a restricted license)
  • You also will be required to provide medication support, however; training will be provided.
