He kōrero mō te tūranga | The Role

Our residential service is looking for a passionate, assertive, confident and compassionate Support Worker to join a new bespoke service looking after a client with autistic spectrum disorder. We have one part-time position (48 hours per fortnight) available. This is a 24/7 service and shifts include 7:00am - 3:00pm, 2:30pm, 10:30 pm, and a sleepover shift of 10:30pm - 7:00am.

He kōrero mōu | About You

The work you will undertake in this role can sometimes be challenging and resilience is a must have quality for this role. You'll need to have the ability to remain calm, practical and rational when in complex situations or incidents. This role will be structured in nature and the ability to work within a set routine is important. In return you'll be able make a difference and help our tangata whaiora to realise their potential. You will need to be comfortable working in a hospital environment, preferably have experience working with clients with autism and an awareness of sensory issues. Communication skills are vital in this role and a level of fitness is required to encourage and participate in activities outside of the facilities.
