Job Description

He kōrero mō te tūranga - The role
This role is working across the Hutt Valley supporting people in the community who experience mental health issues. We are looking for someone who has an understanding of Mental Health issues, is confident working after hours, and enjoys working alongside people to help them achieve their goals. This is a great opportunity to join a highly professional and passionate team to work alongside whānau on their journey of wellbeing. This is a permanent, full-time role, consisting of 40 hours per week. The service hours are from 7am to 11pm and are Monday to Sunday.
He kōrero mōu - About you
We are looking for someone who is positive, flexible, vibrant, confident and compassionate to work in our service. You'll naturally be a problem solver, quick thinker and enjoy connecting with others. You'll use your non-judgemental attitude and belief to encourage clients to change and grow. You'll have the ability to easily build professional relationships with our tāngata whaiora, while maintaining strong professional boundaries. To be successful in this role, you'll require a Level 4 in Health and Disability (or higher) qualification, however; if you're passionate about our organisation and you're willing to work towards a qualification we'll support you as much as we can. Experience in similar role is preferred, however, not a requirement. You'll be culturally respectful and non-judgemental - a strong understanding of Māori and Pacifica cultures is preferred.
Ko tā mātou mahi - We offer
In addition to driving change in YOUR community, you'll be doing so in a national organisation with opportunities for you to grow and develop. You'll join a group of people that live by our values - which means you can take pride in not just what we achieve, but HOW we achieve it. Importantly, we advocate for your wellbeing! With three days of wellbeing leave on offer, you can proactively manage your health and wellbeing. AND finally, you'll want to work here because we are committed to diversity and inclusion. So, you don't have to worry about putting on a fake work persona. Come as you are, and just be YOU!
