Job Description

We are looking for a Community Support Worker with a good heart, empathy and a passion to work alongside people we support in Paraparaumu.

MASH Trust supports people in their own homes, within MASH homes and in the community. We operate throughout the lower North Island, in Wellington, Kapiti, Horowhenua, Manawatu and Hawkes Bay regions.
 
With over 550 staff and volunteers, we work alongside the people we support to enable them to live fulfilling lives.
 
About the Role:
Our support worker roles involve a range of varying support, in some cases assistance with everyday living to helping set and achieve aspirational dreams and goals.  These tasks may include but are not limited to activities of daily living within a residential setting and out and about in the community.
 
The Hours:
We currently have a full time 80 hours per fortnight position available based in Paraparaumu, working in two of our 1-1 units.
Week 1: Monday 7am to 3pm, Tuesday 7am to 3.05pm, Wednesday 7am to 3pm, Friday 7am to 3.05pm, Saturday and Sunday 7am to 3pm
Week 2: Monday 7am to 3.05pm, Wednesday 7am to 3pm, Thursday 7am to 3.05pm and Friday 7am to 3pm
This role specifically requires a Female as specified by the people we supports needs, under the Health and Disability Code of Rights and as provided for under Section 27 of the Human Rights Act 1993.  
 
To be successful in this role you will:
  • Be available to work the days and hours as stated above.
  • Have a clean, full NZ drivers licence and own transport
  • Be eligibility to work in NZ
  • Have previous experience working with challenging behaviours
  • Have a keen interest in working with people of all ages, including those with injuries, disabilities or aged related conditions
  • Have a warm sense of humour, patience and are sensitive to the varying needs of our clients.
