Job Description

He kōrero mō te tūranga | The Role
This role is focused on working with Whānau to engage or re-engage them with their community and natural supports. There is a focus on supporting Whānau to identify goals, collaborating to produce a personalised plan and enabling Whānau to live the life that they want to. This is a role where you can truly make a positive difference. The service delivery side of this role will require you to work and coordinate with the wider community to support Whānau through their journey, providing a safe environment and supporting them with their goals and daily tasks We have a permanent full-time (40 hours per week) position working Monday to Friday between the hours of 8am-6pm, however from time to time you may be required to work outside of those hours. The role is based in Porirua but covers Porirua, Kapiti and the Wellington area.

You may be required to support your clients through various appointments and activities. Each client has their own unique goals so you will be a flexible, adaptable person. We are able to offer some flexibility around working conditions. We provide regular supervision for our team, and staff wellbeing is very important to us. We're looking for someone who Inspires hope to encourage others to reach their full potential. You will be positive, flexible, vibrant, confident and passionate about working in our service. You will enjoy working creatively and autonomously, be a problem solver, quick thinker and enjoy connecting with the community. You will need to think on your feet, remain calm under pressure and really encourage our clients along their journey. Be part of a passionate team, and be able to communicate easily with a variety of people. To be successful in this role, you'll ideally have the following:
  • Level 4 or 5 qualification in Mental Health and Addiction is preferred, but not essential - however you must be willing to work towards this.
  • Full New Zealand driving licence
  • Strong computer skills
  • Can-do attitude
  • Ability to demonstrate strong personal and professional boundaries
