Job Description

He kōrero mō te tūranga | The Role

You will help support our people to fulfil their dreams and aspirations and to rise above their current situation.

You'll coach, mentor, and work with youth to gain real skills by encouraging their participation with daily activities such as chores, preparing evening kai, and connecting with others.

You'll also support with medication management and help people to be as autonomous as possible. 

This is a full-time permanent role and shifts include day and wake over shifts.

He kōrero mōu | About You

  • We're looking for a new team member to join one of our Auckland residential services. We are looking for passionate, vibrant, assertive, confident, and compassionate individuals to work in our Blockhouse Bay service
  • Ideally you will have a minimum of two years' experience as you will work with existing clients and need to quickly establish great connections and rapport with them
  • You need to be fit and active, enjoy connecting with people, be quick thinking, and a great problem solver.
  • It is essential that you have a full New Zealand driver's license; a good level of computer literacy; and a can-do attitude.
  • Ideally, we'd like you to have a background in social work, adult support, psychology, coaching, or mentoring, but if you are looking to develop a career working with people; have loads of integrity, are highly motivated and willing to learn we would welcome hearing from you
  • Minimum qualification for this role is a Level 4 Certificate in Mental Health and Addictions or equivalent
