Job Description

He kōrero mō te tūranga - The roles

Our 4 Whangarei Residential services provide support for adults requiring residential recovery support. We have multiple positions for you to consider where you will provide support to our whaiora to achieve their goals as you walk alongside them on their recovery journey. One of our services is a respite unit dedicated to support for whaiora who have a mental illness and are Covid-19 +ve. Our 3 other services provide longer term accommodation and recovery support. You will be excellent with relationship building, have a passion for mental health and work with dynamic and professional teams that support our tangata whaiora, whānau and community. You'll be confident in carrying out daily recovery activities focusing on client strengths.

You will work collaboratively with colleagues, community providers, clinical teams, and other external stakeholders to help achieve the best outcomes for tangata whaiora. Duties in this role also include updating records, medication support, maintaining hygiene standards in the service and administration duties.

We have permanent roles that are both full-time and part time as well as casual roles.

All roles require inclusion in a 24/7 roster.

You will cope well in challenging environments and bring a positive attitude. You will be excellent with relationship building (both with tangata whaiora and their whānau) and focus on the strengths and interests of the client. You will be confident working autonomously as some shifts are single staffed.

You'll also have:

  • Full NZ driver's licence
  • Strong computer skills
  • A Level 4 Health and Wellbeing Qualification (or equivalent) or be committed to obtaining a level 4 - which we can support you with

Ko tā mātou mahi - We offer

  • Most importantly a Supportive manager who sees the potential in all their employees

And finally, you'll want to work here because we are committed to diversity and inclusion. So, you don't have to worry about putting on a fake work persona. Come as you are, and just be you! We are a supportive team that enjoys celebrating successes, however little or large they may be.
