Job Description We are looking for suitably qualified and/or experienced Youth Workers to provide casual relief support (day/night and sleepover shifts) which sometimes is requested at short notice in one of three community group homes in Christchurch managed by Barnardos. Shift times are 7.00am – 9.00am and  3.00pm – 10.00pm with a 9 hour sleepover shift Friday – Thursday of each week. This type of work can be challenging but is also rewarding.  The role of a casual Youth Worker is to support young people to make positive changes in their lives.  If you thrive on variety, a challenge and enjoy flexible working conditions, then a role like this could be ideal for you. To be successful ideally you will need:
  • Previous experience working with young people
  • Be currently studying towards a formal qualification in human services or similar
  • A belief that young people deserve the opportunity to grow and learn
  • Professional integrity, resilience and dedication
  • A current full driver’s licence is required
