We’re looking for a caring support worker to work in our local Blenheim Residential Service.

The role | Mō tēnei tūranga mahi
We’re looking for a Support Worker who is passionate about supporting people on their recovery journeys.  You’ll report to the Team Coach and join our Pathways Blenheim Residential Service, a single staffed, 6 bed residential recovery service. This is a permanent full-time position working Sunday - Thursday 3.00pm – 11.30pm, based in Blenheim. You’ll walk alongside whai ora to achieve their individual goals and increase knowledge and motivation around daily living tasks, interpersonal relationships, encouraging people to participate in community activities and provide intentional support to all. You’ll also:
  • Focus on the individuals needs and providing culturally safe practice
  • Conduct relevant administrative tasks, comprehensive notes and effective handover, and supporting and collaborating with your colleagues
  • You’ll need to be prepared to support our clients to do whatever it takes - cleaning, budgeting, cooking, gardening or helping out with everyday household tasks
  • Attend appointments and advocate for people
About you | Mōu
You’ll have a caring nature and have the ability to easily build relationships. You’ll have a positive and up beat personality and non-judgemental. You’ll also:
  • Hold a full New Zealand driver’s licence
  • Hold a first aid Certificate or willing to obtain one
  • You will either hold the New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (or a recognised equivalent) or be willing to commence study towards this qualification within six months of starting with us. We offer our staff significant support to complete this study.
  • Knowledge of, and demonstrable commitment to, the principles of the Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
