About the role | Mō tēnei tūranga mahi
You will report to the Team Coach and join our Crisis & Planned Adult Respite - Mental Health & Addictions Facility.  You will be working with a team of Support Workers – all with a common purpose of supporting people experiencing mental distress.  

Part-Time Permanent position available in New Plymouth in the stunning Taranaki region,

You will work 64 hours a fortnight.  Awake night shifts working in a pattern of:
Week 1:  4 nights – 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM; Sunday - Wednesday
Week 2: 3 nights. - 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM; Sunday - Tuesday

Responsibilities include: 

  • Advocate and support people to be well and thrive.
  • Connect them with resources that support them in living well and assist them in building resilience
  • Help people connect with their communities, building the relationships that matter most
  • Foster positive change for a more positive life
  • Provide medication support for our people

You | Mōu
We are interested to hear from people who have a caring nature and work in a recovery and strengths-focused way.

You will also have:

  • Current full driver’s licence
  • Current first aid certificate or be willing to obtain one
  • Applicants must hold the New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (NZCHW) or a recognised equivalent.
  • Preferred experience in Mental Health or similar
  • Knowledge of, and demonstrable commitment to, the principles of the Te Tiriti o Waitangi
