The role | Mō tēnei tūranga mahi 
We’re looking for a Support Worker who is passionate about supporting people on their recovery journeys.  You’ll report to the Team Coach and joining our Pathways Christchurch Residential Services team, who support people to transition into independent living. You will be working in a team of Support Workers – all with a common purpose to support people experiencing mental illness.

As a Support Worker you’ll be:

  • Supporting people with budgeting and independent daily living skills
  • Attending appointments and advocating for people
  • Assisting people to connect with their communities
  • Be prepared to do whatever it takes - cleaning, cooking, gardening, personal care or helping out with everyday tasks

This role is 3 days per week working 0.6FTE, Thursday - Saturday, 3:00PM - 11:30PM, based at Ward Street, Christchurch.

You | Mōu: 
We are interested to hear from people who have a caring nature and work in a recovery focused way, you will have impeccable attention to detail and be able to provide medication support for our people.

  • You must hold a current full driver’s licence
  • You must hold a current first aid certificate or be willing to obtain one
  • Applicants must hold the New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (NZCHW) or a recognised equivalent.  Alternatively, you will be willing to commence study towards this within six months of starting your employment with Pathways. This needs to be completed within two years of commencement. Pathways offers significant support for support workers to complete this study.
  • Ideally you’ll have some experience working in the mental health field
  • And an understanding of Te Ao Maori principles in a wellbeing setting.
