We’re looking for an experienced support worker to join us in the Helvetia Road Housing & Recovery residential service.

About the role | Mō tēnei tūranga mahi
You will be reporting to the Team Coach in the Housing and Recovery service.  We are a 6-bed supported accommodation with staff support around the clock.  You will be working in a cohesive team of support workers whilst engaging our people with the Health and Well-being team to attend sporting and outdoor activities.

Full-Time, Permanent Position based in Pukekohe, Auckland
Friday – Monday, AM and PM alternating weekly
AM Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
PM Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM

Responsibilities include:

  • Advocate and support people to be well and thrive.
  • Connect them with resources that support them in living well and assist them in building resilience
  • Help people connect with their communities, building the relationships that matter most
  • Foster positive change for a more positive life
  • Provide medication support for our people
  • Support people with their appointments
  • Work alongside people to achieve their goals

You | Mōu

  • Understanding and commitment to principles of recovery
  • Current full NZ driver’s licence
  • Current first aid certificate
  • Applicants must hold the New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (NZCHW) or a recognised equivalent or working towards a level 4 qualification
  • Support Worker experience or similar
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of the primary care sector
  • Knowledge of, and demonstrable commitment to, the principles of the Te Tiriti o Waitangi
