About the role | Mō tēnei tūranga mahi

This role is based in our Residential Recovery service.  Here, we help to support people to live their best lives according to them, help them to identify, set and reach their goals - so you might be doing an activity they enjoy, learning something new, developing a garden, being creative, or developing their community networks.   Every day will be different, and every day you’ll be doing meaningful mahi.

This role is 32 hours per week working Sunday to Wednesday 7am – 3.30pm, based in Nelson.

In this role you’ll

  • Support people with independent daily living skills – cooking, cleaning, gardening and everyday household tasks
  • To be healthier and set goals
  • Focus on the individuals needs and provide culturally safe practice
  • Complete relevant administrative tasks, take comprehensive notes, provide effective handovers to the next shift, and support and collaborate with your colleagues
  • Be prepared to do whatever it takes

About you | Mōu

  • Hold a current full and clean New Zealand driver’s licence
  • Hold a current comprehensive first aid certificate covering units 6400, 6401 and 6402 or be willing to obtain one within 3 months of employment
  • Preferred but not essential to hold the New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (or a recognised equivalent) or be willing to commence study towards this qualification within six months of starting with us and complete it within 2 years.  We offer our staff significant support to complete this study
  • Have a cultural awareness, knowledge of, and demonstrable commitment to, the principles of the Te Tiriti o Waitangi
