Join our Residential Service and provide support to those in our community on their recovery journey.

The role | Mō tēnei tūranga mahi
This is a permanent full-time position working Tuesday – Saturday, 3.00pm – 11.30pm, based in Blenheim.

We are a 6 bed, single staffed residential recovery service working within the mental health sector in Blenheim.  As a Support Worker you’ll walk alongside whai ora to achieve their individual goals and increase knowledge and motivation around daily living tasks, interpersonal relationships, encouraging people to participate in community activities and provide intentional support to all.

You’ll also:

  • Focus on the individuals needs and provide culturally safe practice
  • Conduct relevant administrative tasks, produce comprehensive notes, provide effective handovers, and support and collaborate with your colleagues
  • You’ll need to be prepared to support our clients to do whatever it takes - cleaning, budgeting, cooking, gardening or helping out with everyday household tasks
  • Attend appointments and advocate for people

About you | Mōu
You’ll have a non-judgemental attitude and an ability to build relationships quickly.

You’ll also;

  • Hold a full New Zealand driver’s licence
  • Hold a first aid certificate or willing to obtain one
  • You will either hold the New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (or a recognised equivalent) or be willing to commence study towards this qualification within six months of starting with us. We offer our staff significant support to complete this study.
  • Knowledge of, and demonstrable commitment to, the principles of the Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
