Job Description

The service
We have a permanent, full-time position available within our small and dynamic team. This service has the capacity to support five people to reach their goals and realise their potential within a home environment. You'll have a supportive manager who draws on the strengths of team members to create a safe, nurturing space for whānau, where they can realise their potential and reach their goals. The service aims to provide a safe a nurturing space where whānau feel supported to live their best life.
The role:
  • Aid the Transition Process - walk alongside whānau as they learn to live as independently as possible within the community
  • Work Closely with Clinicians - You'll work closely alongside the clinical team to ensure rangatahi are kept safe and well
  • Be Challenged - In this role you'll experience challenges, a calm and patient approach to behavioural challenges you may face is essential
  • Reach goals - Set goal plans and walk alongside whānau to achieve their goals
  • Support - support rangatahi to connect, maintain and build healthy relationships with their own whānau, iwi and community
  • Ensure key documentation and handovers are accurately recorded
  • Encourage rangatahi to participate in learning daily living skills
  • Be the health and safety representative, ensuring safety in the workplace
This is a permanent 40 hours per week role that is rostered shifts Monday - Sunday 24/7 on a rotating roster.

You'll need the following:
  • Ideally have a Level 4 Mental Health Certificate or Level 4 Health and Wellbeing Qualification (or equivalent)
  • Experience in the dual disability sector
  • Experience with personal cares
  • Must have a full, New Zealand driver's licence
  • Good time management and organisational skills
  • Be culturally responsive and non-judgemental
  • See potential in people and thrive in a challenging and ever changing environment
  • Have strong professional boundaries
  • Have the ability to easily build professional relationships with people
  • Excellent computer skills and be competent with administration/filing
