The role | Mō tēnei tūranga mahi
We’re looking for a Support Worker who is passionate about supporting people on their recovery journeys.  You’ll report to the Team Coach and join our Pathways Blenheim Residential Service. If you don’t have any prior knowledge or experience that’s ok, we offer all of our staff the opportunity to become qualified, gaining a nationally recognized Level Four Certificate in Mental Health and Wellbeing. This is a permanent part-time position working 24 hours per week on the awake night shift from 11.00pm – 7.30am, Thursday to Saturday, based in Blenheim. Responsibilities include:
  • Focusing on the individuals needs and providing culturally safe practice
  • Relevant administrative tasks, comprehensive notes and effective handover, and supporting and collaborating with your colleagues
  • Support people with independent daily living skills. You’ll need to be prepared to support our clients to do whatever it takes - cleaning, cooking, gardening or helping out with everyday household tasks
  • While the people you support are asleep, you will be kept busy with other tasks like cleaning and supporting the day shifts with maintaining things like filing, first aid kits, emergency kits and preparation of paperwork.
About you | Mōu
You’ll have a caring nature and have the ability to easily build relationships. You’ll have a positive and up beat personality and non-judgemental. You’ll also:
  • Hold a full New Zealand driver’s licence
  • Hold a first aid Certificate or willing to obtain one
  • You will either hold the New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (or a recognised equivalent) or be willing to commence study towards this qualification within six months of starting with us. We offer our staff significant support to complete this study.
