Job Description

$21.50 - $27.00 depending on relevant qualifications, with the ability to earn more as you get qualified. Assist people with intellectual disabilities to fully participate in their community and live fulfilling and productive lives.

About the role
The team in Hutt Valley are looking for energetic and motivated individuals to join and support a range of people with an intellectual disability. In this role you will be working with people at different stages of their lives starting from young adults, to achieve greater independence and be part of their community. We currently have full time roles available.

What you will be doing:
  • You will be teaching people we support the life skills they require to help them achieve greater independence
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships within the community
  • Supporting people with basic household duties, meal preparation, medication oversight and personal cares
  • Flexibility to work across a rotating fortnightly roster, including weekends and sleepovers
  • Have a Full NZ drivers’ licence or be able to gain it within 3 months
  • Pass a full New Zealand Police check
  • Legal entitlement to live and work in New Zealand for at least 10 months
