Ngā Ratonga | Our services:

We are a small and dynamic Whānau, based in Rathgar Road, Henderson. We are a residential service, that supports up to 5 Tāngata Whaiora, who have dual disabilities and an axis 1 mental health diagnosis.

Our service aims to support Tāngata Whaiora reach their goals and realise their potential within a home environment, but most importantly provide a safe and nurturing space where whānau feel supported to live their best life.

Job Description

He kōrero mō te tūranga | The Role

At Rathgar Road residential service we aid the transition process - walk alongside Whānau as they learn to live as independently as possible within the community.

Your daily/ ongoing activities will include setting goals, supporting them in building and maintaining healthy relationships with their Whānau, community, and iwi, but also encourage participation in learning daily life skills. Part of this role includes continence, personal cares and implementing best hygiene practices. 

Your internal relationships will see you working collaboratively with clinician's, to ensure we are providing a safe nurturing space for tāngata whaiora, ensure key documentation and handovers are accurately recorded, but also become our health and safety representative.

  • Casual role| Monday - Sunday 24/7 working a rotating roster| AM - PM - Sleep Over shifts

He kōrero mōu | About You

  • Ideally have a Level 4 Mental Health Certificate or Level 4 Health and Wellbeing Qualification (or equivalent)
  • Experience in the dual disability sector
  • Experience with personal cares
  • Must have a full New Zealand driver's licence
  • Good time management and organisational skills
  • Be culturally responsive and non-judgemental
  • See potential in people and thrive in a challenging and ever-changing environment
  • Have strong professional boundaries
  • Excellent computer skills and be competent with administration/filing.
