Job Description

Live Life Disability Support

Vision: Supporting people to live well

  • Do you connect well with children (tamariki), youth (rangatahi) and adults (pakeke)?
  • Can you focus on the ability and not the disability?
  • Can you look at a caterpillar and see the beauty ready to spread its wings?
  • Can you think outside the square?
  • Can you understand the need to maintain professional boundaries?
  • Can you follow instructions and stick to the plan and be a great team player?

If so, then you must be who we are looking for! We already know you treat everyone you meet with dignity and respect because you understand the principles of inclusion and equality. We can tell you are genuinely interested in working in the disability sector and we hope to speak with you!

So, when we are talking about disability - what does this mean? You could work with a person who has an intellectual and/or physical impairment, brain injury, alcohol related dementia and other conditions such as Huntington's or multiple sclerosis.

N.B. Disability Support Services are part of Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora Nelson Marlborough; however, we are not a medical/clinical service. We are a community-based disability support service focused on quality of life and Enabling Good Lives Principles.

Nga mohiohio e pa ana ki enei mahi (About these positions)

We have permanent full-time, part-time, flexible, casual, sleepovers (attached to afternoon shifts), and awake roles available for you to apply for.

Your hourly rate will be $23.15 to $28.25 (from 1 April 24) dependent upon your qualifications as recognised under the Care and Support Workers (Pay Equity) Settlement Act 2017.
