Job Description

He kōrero mō te tūranga - The role

Providing support within our adult and youth residential services for recovery and rehabilitation - You'll join Tangata Whaiora on their recovery journey, providing a safe environment for our clients and supporting them with their goals and daily tasks.

This exciting opportunity is for a casual staff member to work across our Northshore and West Auckland residential services. This role would suit someone that is studying in this sector, looking to gain more experience or someone who is keen to pick up casual shifts when available.

The great thing about working as a casual is that you have to ability to pick and choose what shifts you work.

He kōrero mōu - About you

Ideal candidate will be confident in carrying out activities of daily living and personal care, be able to implement best practice interventions and rehabilitation strategies and support service users to maintain and improve communication, behaviour, mobility and activities of daily living.

We are looking for someone who is positive, flexible, vibrant, confident, and compassionate to work in our service.

You'll naturally be a problem solver, quick thinker and enjoy connecting with the community. You'll use your non-judgemental attitude and belief to encourage clients to change and grow.

What you need:

  • Ideally have a Level four Mental Health Certificate or Level four Health and Wellbeing Qualification (or equivalent)
  • It's essential that you have a full New Zealand driving licence
  • Be culturally responsive and non-judgemental
  • Strong computer skills, a 'can-do' attitude
  • Strong personal and professional boundaries
  • Demonstrated commitment to recovery model
  • Demonstrated commitment to the Treaty of Waitangi and culturally safe practice
