Job Description
He kōrero mō te tūranga | The Role
We are looking for Support Worker to be engaged in our community residential service supporting clients who require intensive, high needs support. You will provide a safe environment, supporting Tangata Whaiora with their goals, daily tasks, and ultimately independent living.
These roles involve direct support but also the opportunity to be involved in service development and best practice ideas for this innovative service and we welcome applicants who have a passion to see others succeed while you also work on your own development.
You will be well supported by your colleagues, service manager, health professionals and the wider emerge Whānau.
This role is for a full-time position to work 40 hours on rostered shifts Monday - Sunday.
He kōrero mōu | About You
We are looking for someone who is positive, flexible, vibrant, confident and compassionate to work in our service. You'll naturally be a problem solver, quick thinker and enjoy connecting with the community in line with the reintegration plan. You'll use your non-judgmental attitude and belief to encourage clients to change and grow.
A Level 4 in Health & Disability (or higher) qualification is desirable, however; if you're passionate about our organisation and you're willing to work towards a qualification we'll support you as much as we can. You'll require knowledge of working with people with complex mental health diagnosis' and needs who currently require sophisticated support interventions.
Experience of one-to-one support within the community would be preferred but not essential.
