Ā mātou rōpū (About our team)
Live Life Disability Support (LLDS) is a service assisting people with a disability to achieve their personal aspirations and choices. LLDS provides support to over 250 people in a variety of residential, respite settings including Day Services across the Nelson/Tasman and Marlborough regions.
We believe people are in control of their own life and therefore their support is personalised to each individual ‘person centred’.
We work to enable people to have the opportunity to do everyday things in everyday ways. The people we support have a wide range of abilities and challenges. Some people require support with their personal care and taking care of household tasks; some require support to participate and be part of their community including transport and accessing social and leisure activities; and some require communication and behavioural support.
We actively encourage people to pursue their aspirations and try out new experiences, and can guarantee that no two days working at LLDS are ever the same.
N.B. Disability Support Services are part of Te Whatu Ora Health New Zealand (Nelson Marlborough). However, we operate under a social not a medical model. We are a community based disability support service focused on quality of life outcomes and the Enabling Good Lives Principles.
