Te Pou ā Nuku “To guide through diversity”
(Team Leader)
Comcare is an established Mental Health and Housing provider assisting people with mental health or addiction issues to live well in the community. We provide a rich and diverse range of Mental Health Support Services, Housing and Housing Support Services.
In partnership with Te Whatu Ora Southern, Comcare is commencing services in Dunedin supporting people who need unique and tailored housing and support responses.
About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for someone to lead this service reporting to a Service Manager based in Canterbury. Although there is already a strong framework of planning in place for this service, this position will be key to the implementation and shaping of how the service is delivered on a day to day basis.
As Te Pou ā Nuku, you will support and lead a team ensuring creative, sustainable solutions/outcomes are developed for referred clients who experience mental illness with complex support needs.
A key aspect of the role will be liaising with agencies and community organisations and services, developing partnerships that ensure our clients are able to access all the appropriate services to meet their needs.
This position is full time across Monday to Friday with flexibility for telephone support where an urgent response is required.
What you will need
We are looking for a strong, empathetic and dynamic leader, with a solid understanding of support services. You will need to demonstrate the ability to lead, and develop a team. We are seeking someone who will be organised, confident and comfortable liaising in a multi-agency environment.
You will have a cultural awareness, knowledge of, and demonstrable commitment to, the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
We would also be keen to hear from applicants who have a Tertiary Qualification in a mental health related occupation (e.g. Nursing, Social Work, Occ. Therapy).
