Real | Mō mātou

We provide health and wellbeing services for taiohi aged between 12 to 24. We believe in the importance of community, connection and relationships – and in the ability of young people to shape their own futures.

The Whetū Marewa services aims to build the confidence, resilience & wellbeing of taiohi (young people) with mental health and addiction related issues by enabling access to a range of supported interventions. Whetū Marewa provides mobile support in a community out-reach approach by offering a Registered Health Professional-led school and community-based clinics.

As part of our whānau, your role would be to understand and apply tikanga such as whanaungatanga and manaakitanga into everyday practice.

Job Description

  • Earn up to $43.32 Per Hour + Paid well-being days + Relocation Assistance.
  • Permanent, full-time role working Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.00pm.
  • 1-hr commute to Thames from South Auckland + Art, galleries and more.

Use your clinical knowledge & skills to assess, plan, implement, monitor, & evaluate taiohi/whānau health needs. Work in a team in sunny Thames.

The Role | Mō tēnei tūranga mahi

As a Team Coach, you will be part of the local leadership team, attend regular meetings and Team Coach trainings. You will also be part of a National rostered after-hours service on a rotating basis.

In this role you will align with our tikanga (principles) and kawa (practice) and support the Whetū Marewa service by;

  • Leading a youth focused team to deliver support to young people to build their ability to cope with life challenges and positive decisions within schools and community settings.
  • Being part of a leadership team, attend regular meetings and Team Coach professional development sessions.
  • Contributing to a National rostered after-hours service on a rotating basis.

This is permanent full-time role, working Monday-Friday, 8.30am - 5.00pm, in Thames.

You | Mōu

We would expect the successful applicant to have advanced skills in working collaboratively with other providers to provide support in the community. If you have the ability to support and inspire a team- or someone who can work alongside and provide mentoring and information to others.

You'll be positive, energetic, organised and a great communicator. You must be either a Registered Nurse, Registered Social Worker, or Occupational Therapist as well as an inspirational leader.

You will have:

  • Experience in working with and an understanding of trauma-informed care.
  • At least 3 years leadership experience.
  • Tertiary Health qualification in social work, occupational therapy or nursing and registration with professional body.
  • A current full New Zealand driver’s licence.
  • A current New Zealand first aid certificate or be prepared to obtain one.
  • An understanding of what you need for your own wellbeing.
  • Knowledge of, and demonstrable commitment to, the articles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
