Live Life Disability Support provides support to over 250 people, who have disabilities, to achieve their personal aspirations and choices in a variety of residential and respite settings across the Nelson/Tasman and Marlborough regions. We are a community-based disability support service focused on quality-of-life outcomes and the Enabling Good Lives Principles.
We support each person to manage their day to day lives in ways and at times that work for them. This could be anything from personal care, behaviour support to living life in the community. The people we support have a wide range of abilities and we focus on enabling good lives by being inclusive and actively encouraging family and whānau input.

We are looking to appoint a Team Leader to work across two community homes in central Nelson. You will work closely with the people we support, their whānau and local community organisations and professional agencies to support and enable good lives for adults with unique and special needs. You will always be role modelling best practice, whilst ensuring compassionate, engaging and fit-for-purpose care. You will harness your sensitive and attentive supporting style for individuals with physical and medical needs, to enable them to live good lives and participate in the community as active citizens.
You will be involved with ongoing service development that will allow you to use your expertise and skills. You will be an integral part of the team, providing support and leadership, as well as pro-active day-to-day support to enable the people you support to live safely and be actively involved in their community.
While your off-roster hours will typically be from 7am to 3.30pm, Monday to Friday, we work with flexibility over seven days including evening and weekend work if required. Our goal is to centre the needs of the people we support, requiring lots of communication, planning and flexibility. We are non-judgmental, reflective, and trauma informed always. We embed the Enabling Good Lives principles into the important mahi that we do.
The salary for this position is $58,760 plus an annual two-house allowance of $7,000.
Ko wai he kaitono tōtika? (Who is an appropriate applicant?)
You will have inspiring leadership skills and a strong commitment to the principles of person-centred support. You will also hold a minimum NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Level 4), or an equivalent health or disability related qualification as assessed by the Ministry of Health (see link below) and will have a sound knowledge of Person-Centred support as well as good time management skills. Experience working in the field of disability and/or social services would be advantageous.
This role is classified by Immigration as ANZSCO 423111 and applicants for this position must be eligible to work in New Zealand.
