We provide health and disability services to more than half a million people living in central Auckland, regional services for Northland and greater Auckland, and specialist national services for the whole of New Zealand. Our main sites are Auckland City Hospital, Greenlane Clinical Centre and Starship Children’s Hospital, located in central Auckland.

  • We have an exciting opportunity in our team for an individual to provide support care to clients and their families, under the guidance of our experienced clinicians.
  • You will work alongside each individual and their family to identify and develop the necessary skills to improve their process of recovery and quality of life in the community.
  • Permanent, part-time role (0.8 FTE), Monday to Friday.

 

Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity

We are seeking a Therapy Assistant for our Day Programme and Community Teams for our Tupu Ora, Eating Disorder Service.

Tupu Ora is a regional specialist service providing assessment and treatment for, children, adolescents and adults with eating disorders. Tupu Ora also provides consultation to and liaison with community services and hospitals in the Metro Auckland and Northland region.

Tupu Ora has a continuum of services including community/outpatient, intensive day programme and residential options.  The Tupu Ora community team provides specialist treatment to children, adolescents and adults presenting with moderate to severe eating disorders in the community and outpatient setting. 

 

Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills

Ideally, you will have a certificate or diploma in Mental Health Support Work, or a similar qualification.  It would also be beneficial to have work experience in a relevant mental health setting.

We are seeking an individual who understands mental illness and recovery.  Also, an understanding of eating disorders. 

You will have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
