The role | Mō tēnei tūranga mahi  

Full-time, Permanent position available in East Tāmaki Heights.
You will working 40 hours on Tuesday – Saturday; Alternating weekly AM/PM shifts: 
Week 1: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Week 2: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM

At Mana Taiohi, no two days are ever the same. You’ll be reporting to the Team Coach and working amongst a great team of youth workers. You will be providing support in our short stay respite service for taiohi (young people) experiencing difficult times in their lives. You will be engaging and creating a welcoming environment to assist young people to get back on track – by supporting them to develop social connections, grow confidence and resilience, and strengthen their connections with family and whanau – so they can live their dreams and thrive in their communities.

About You | Mōu

  • A National Certificate in Mental Health and Addiction Support Work (Level4) or National Certificate in Youth Work.
  • An understanding of trauma-informed care and working with young people
  • A full New Zealand driver’s licence
  • An understanding of Information Technology – Microsoft Office preferred
  • A current New Zealand first aid certificate or be prepared to obtain one
  • Previous experience in youth work, social work, mental health and addiction preferred
  • You’ll enjoy being part of the team and be excellent in building relationships
  • You’ll be flexible and have positive approach when dealing with challenging behaviours
