The government recently announced that they were entering into pay equity negotiations for mental health and addiction workers. These negotiations are currently underway, and involve representatives from the Ministry of Health, unions and employers.

Careerforce is not involved in these negotiations.

If and when a settlement is reached between the negotiating parties, and any subsequent legislation is created or amended, the role of Careerforce will become clear. Such a role may include responsibility for determining qualification equivalence as per the Aged Care & Support Pay Equity Settlement.
