Who is this for
Learners who require specialised support who want to improve their self-management skills to gain employment or further their studies.
This qualification is an entry level qualification for people who require specialised support with their learning. They are people with learning disabilities, including those with an intellectual disability.
Graduates will be able to self-manage participation in social, cultural, family/whanau and community contexts, with supervision and/or be encouraged to seek further skills and knowledge to improve their educational and employment pathway.

Supported Learning unit standards were listed on the Directory of Assessment Standards in November 2015. To provide guidance and/or assistance for programme developers and organisations, these unit standards were reviewed and aligned to outcomes of the New Zealand Certificate in Skills for Living for Supported Learners (Level 1) with an optional strand in Skills for Working [Ref: 2853]
Unit standards may be incorporated into programmes of study and used to provide assessment evidence towards the achievement of qualification outcomes. They may be used to assess parts or all of the qualification outcomes.
