Job Description

He kōrero mō te tūranga | The Role

This is a fantastic opportunity to have a direct impact on the lives of people in the community to help them to reconnect, learn, grow, and live as independently as possible. You will be engaged in our community residential service supporting tāngata whaiora who require intensive, high needs support. We welcome applicants who have a passion to see others succeed while you also work on your own development. 

You'll be working as a key team member alongside Clinical, Residential, Educational and Administrative partners who are all committed and working hard for our people. You will also receive regular supervision and debriefing with your service manager in groups and as an individual. You will be trained by us in several key skills.

We currently have one permanent full-time position available, working rostered shifts across a 24/7 service.

He kōrero mōu | About You

You'll have life experience, patience, empathy and wisdom to share with the ability to do so in a way that engages Tangata Whaiora . You'll be the type of person that can instantly build rapport with people who have experienced trauma and you can redirect unhelpful behaviour. Additionally, you'll have plenty of resilience and you don't take things personally. Your initiative and proactive approach will be highly valued in your day-to-day work. You'll also need:

  • A full, clean, valid driver's license
  • A Certificate in Health and Wellbeing Level 4 or working towards.
  • Must hold and maintain First Aid certification including CPR (or be willing and able to complete this).
  • Sound judgement with the skills to manage risk and make tough decisions
  • Meet our vetting requirements
  • Eligibility to work in New Zealand
  • Additionally, an understanding and confidence in tikanga Māori and te reo Māori would be advantageous.
