Unit standard and credit achievement

Trainees can access their own Record of Achievement on the NZQA website with their National Student Number (NSN).

Visit NZQA website

Trainees can look up what units and credits they have achieved. Please note that if the credits have been registered with Careerforce in the last seven days, they may not yet show up on the NZQA website.

Trainee appeal process

If a trainee is not satisfied with their assessment result, Careerforce recommends that the trainee discusses their concerns with their assessor.

If the trainee is not comfortable doing this, or would still like to appeal the result, they can make an appeal to Careerforce. A Careerforce National Moderator will review the assessment and make a decision whether to uphold or change the assessment result.

To appeal the result of an assessment, the trainee  should complete the appeal of assessment result form.

Progress Report

Trainee’s can contact us on 0800 277 486 or email us and request a Progress Report. This Report shows how far through a qualification the trainee is, and which unit standards and credits have been achieved towards their qualification.

Issuing Certificates

Certificates should take no longer than one month to arrive after the result for the last unit has been reported to us (Careerforce) by the trainee’s assessor.  Here are the steps:
Week 1 – Each Monday we export the results we’ve received during the previous week to NZQA. We then award the qualification with NZQA on Wednesday.
Week 2 – The Monday after the qualification has been awarded, we send a request to our external printers to print the certificate. They print and send out the certificate via courier.
Week 3 – The certificate should arrive with the workplace.

There are a couple of reasons why a certificate may be delayed.

  • It may be that the assessor has not reported results to us in a timely manner. The process above starts from when the trainee’s last result was reported to us. So if results are not reported to us until a month after the completion date, the trainee will be looking at a 2 month wait to get their certificate from the day the last unit was marked complete.
  • All our certificates go to the workplace address. If this address is not correct, it causes a delay in certificate delivery. Trainees who leave their workplace and would like their certificate sent to an alternative address should let us know.
