As the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) appointed qualification developer for Health & Wellbeing qualifications, we have commenced a major review of a number of qualifications. This is a requirement of the NZQA for all qualifications listed within the New Zealand Qualifications Framework (NZQF), but also good practice to ensure they remain fit for purpose.

Qualification Review is ongoing. We are excited to work with individuals, interest groups, sector representatives, Tertiary Education Organisations and employers to ensure that qualifications remain relevant and lead to meaningful career pathways for graduates.

For Careerforce, this review first and foremost represents an opportunity to engage with all stakeholders, and seek feedback. This is essential to ensure that the qualifications are needed, remain fit for purpose, and to ensure that any necessary amendments are made to reflect changes happening in the affected sector environments.

Careerforce is taking a phased approach in the review to allow stakeholders the time to participate actively in the consultation and engagement process.

The review will consider the qualification details, specifications, and conditions to ensure they reflect the skills, knowledge and application demonstrated by a graduate.

Out of Scope

The review excludes the following:

  • Qualification equivalencies for pay equity
  • Programmes of study
  • Programmes of industry training
  • Unit standards
  • Learning guides
  • Assessments
