Welcome to the Virtual Whare

Home > Welcome to the Virtual Whare

Whakatau mai rā, whakatau mai rā ki te Whare Ipurangi

Kia ora, and welcome to the Virtual Whare.

The Virtual Whare is an interactive journey through the Pōwhiri Process and an introduction to the Marae. It is designed to help you learn about the key parts of the Marae Ātea and or Marae Āreare, Wharenui and its surrounding spaces.

The kawa and tikanga of the pōwhiri will provide a safe and supportive foundation for your learning. As you move through the Virtual Whare, you will be guided by clickable icons and short videos that explain the purpose, meaning, and values associated with each area.

This experience is designed for anyone who wants to build their understanding in an accessible and respectful way; whether you’re new to the Marae or have spent time on one before, the Virtual Whare supports learning at your own pace.

Hoināno, nau mai piki mai, haere mai ki te Whare Ipurangi
