Careerforce is reviewing two level 3 unit standards that are currently listed on the Directory of Assessment Standards (DAS). They are in the Diversional Therapy domain.

Standard 23918 has been reviewed in conjunction with the New Zealand Society of Diversional and Recreational Therapy. The proposed changes are minor:

  • The standard now refers to ‘Diversional and Recreational therapy’.
  • Due to NZQA rules on the length of standard titles (120 characters maximum), addition of ‘Recreational’ to the existing title is not possible. Therefore, a new title is proposed.
  • Guidance information has been updated.
  • Minor edits have been made to wording in Performance Criteria.

Standard 25770 has not been well used since 2018, and was not attempted at all in 2020. The New Zealand Society of Diversional and Recreational Therapy have indicated that the content of 25770 now forms part of its professional registration process. Therefore, Careerforce intends to retire this Unit Standard on 31 December 2023.

We invite stakeholders and programme providers to provide feedback.

If your organisation wishes to comment on the revised standards, please email james.dearnley@careerforce.org.nz before the close of business on Friday 23 April 2021.

Please find the US document for 25770 that Careerforce propose to retire.
