Careerforce is reviewing nine unit standards that are currently listed on the Directory of Assessment Standards (DAS). They are in the Health and Disability Principles in Practice domain.

We invite stakeholders and programme providers to provide feedback on the revised unit standards.

If your organisation wishes to comment on the revised standards, please reply to acsproject@careerforce.org.nz before the close of business on Wednesday 16 September 2020.

No major changes to the standards have been suggested so far. Points of note:

  • The term ‘candidate’ remains as is in the standards within Guidance Information. Careerforce is though intending to look at terminology used in unit standards (e.g. ‘learner’, ‘trainee’, ‘candidate’) in the near future.
  • ‘Organisational policies and procedures’ now has ‘job descriptors and employment contracts’ included.
  • ‘Culture’ now references the UNESCO definition.
  • References now conform to APA standards, and have been updated as necessary.
  • Purpose statements at the top now use language from qualification 4108 (‘This unit standard is targeted at people with significant experience of providing services in a health or wellbeing setting‘).
  • The title for 23393 has been edited.
  • Guidance Information has been updated where relevant (e.g. legislation, New Zealand standards, definitions).
  • Various iterative changes have been made to language and formatting used in Outcomes and Performance Criteria.
  • The last date for assessment using the current versions of these standards will be 31 December 2022.
