Community Coaches can make a significant difference in the lives of disabled people.   They encourage to enhance their lives.  In their roles, coaches support the client to learn new tasks, to focus on the client’s strengths and abilities (looking for what people can do instead of what they may be unable to do), make the appropriate adjustments & connections and following up with mentoring.

For example, you might be supporting someone to go to the supermarket.  You would enquire “what can you do?” then encourage them to e.g. reach an item off the shelf and then do it alongside them.
