Garth originally joined the Careerforce Board as the Chief Executive of the New Zealand Disability Support Network (NZDSN). In this role he led a number of strategic initiatives that positioned NZDSN as an influential peak body for Disability support employers. Garth has a wealth of experience in and around the disability sector with previous roles in both NGOs and the public sector spanning management, Governance, research, policy development, service design and evaluation.

He is now a self- employed consultant and continues to have an active involvement in disability policy and workforce development. Garth was also recently appointed as a council member for Toitū te Waiora, the new Workforce Development Council that has coverage for the community, health, education and social services sectors which includes disability support.
