Job Description

  • Casual work + flexibility & variety based Adult Residential, Thames.
  • 3 distinct shifts across a 7-day week, night, morning (AM) & afternoon (PM).
  • Earn up to $29.10 per hour + Gain a qualification.

Work alongside tāngata whaiora to maintain physical, emotional & spiritual wellness. Assist them with tools and strategies to make the changes wanted.

The Role | Mō tēnei tūranga mahi

You will be reporting to the Team Coach, our casual roles provide cover for permanent Support workers – the hours of work are not regular and are offered when they become available. We operate 7 days a week.

In this role you will:

  • Be busy supporting people with budgeting and independent daily living skills.
  • Attending appointments and advocating for people.
  • Might be assisting people to connect with their communities.
  • Be prepared to do whatever it takes for the people we support - cleaning, cooking, gardening, personal care or helping with everyday tasks.

You | Mōu

  • You must hold a current full New Zealand driver’s licence.
  • You must hold a current first aid certificate or be willing to obtain one.
  • Applicants must hold the Level 4 New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (NZCHW) or a recognised equivalent.Alternatively, you will be willing to commence study towards this within six months of starting your employment with Pathways. This needs to be completed within two years of commencement. Pathways offers significant support for support workers to complete this study.
  • Able to be flexible and available for varying shifts.
  • Both de-escalation skills and relationship building skills.
